Zumbrota is the home to Minnesota’s only remaining functioning covered bridge! Located 20 miles north of Rochester and about 40 miles south of the Twin Cities on the fast growing Highway 52 Corridor. The City boasts an active historic Main Street, growing commercial & industrial sectors, strong residential roots and well maintained parks & open space.

The name Zumbrota appears to have resulted from a corruption of the French name for the local Zumbro River, Rivière des Embarras (Obstruction River), coupled with Dakota toŋ (village)
